Deep Sky Creations

  • Explore the Universe.
  • Create the Impossible.

An independent game studio building original worlds — and pointing a telescope at the real one.

The studio

Why both.

The telescope came first. The compiler came second.

Deep Sky Creations started as somewhere to put photographs of things that are objectively too far away to matter — taken from a back garden in Michigan, under a sky that is nowhere near dark enough, over a lot of cold evenings. That work is still here and still running.

The games came out of the same habit. Wanting to understand a thing well enough to build a working model of it is the same impulse whether the thing is an asteroid field or a transfer orbit. It is why the launch simulator on this site runs actual patched-conics physics rather than an animation that looks about right, and why the trivia questions come out of the same catalogue that feeds the atlas.

Games are the future of the business. Space is where it came from. Neither is decoration for the other, and this site is being rebuilt to say so.

Explore the Universe. Create the Impossible.

Play what is out, read what is next, or go and look at the real thing. All three are the same studio.
