Service provider & accounts

Deep Sky Creations LLC operates this website and publishes Ultimate Emulator under the customer brand Deep Sky Creations. These terms cover the website, free account and Premium connected services. Software-specific licence terms supplied with the application also apply to its use.

Your free account identifies you across supported website and client services. Keep your credentials secure. Manage sessions and request account deletion from your account. Cancel Premium from the Premium page to prevent renewal; the deletion flow first ends a live Premium subscription at its payment provider and waits if that provider cannot be reached.

Content and ownership

All original astrophotography on Deep Sky Creations is copyright Mike. You may view it freely. Reuse, reproduction, or commercial use without written permission is not allowed.

Imagery from NASA, ESA, JPL, STScI, and other space agencies is used under each agency's published terms and is credited per entry. Catalog text and reference data are paraphrased from public sources (NED, SIMBAD, Wikipedia) with attribution; underlying licences for those sources govern your reuse of that material, not these terms.

The visibility computations, ephemeris values, and orbital positions on this site are best-effort. They use the astronomy-engine library (which implements VSOP87 and Meeus) and are accurate to within a few arc-minutes for normal observing, but they are not certified for navigation or scientific publication.

Do not use this site to make safety-critical decisions. In particular: the Sun's daytime visibility window does not mean it is safe to look at without a proper solar filter. Solar observation without certified equipment can permanently damage your eyes.

The Store links to our external Shopify storefront. Separate purchase terms are presented at checkout by the commerce provider. Those terms — covering payment, shipping, returns, refunds, and dispute resolution — apply to the purchase only. These site terms continue to apply to your use of the rest of the site.

Ultimate Emulator Premium is an optional subscription to the online services Deep Sky Creations runs for Ultimate Emulator: online multiplayer and the live Social service, and further hosted services as they are added. The local application and public updates remain free. Cloud Saves are Coming Soon and are not an available service. Local play, saves and local Workshop authoring remain free; supported Premium Workshop functions use the connected-service entitlement.

Everyone in an online session needs Premium. Hosting, joining, joining with a session code and accepting an invitation to an online session each require an active Premium membership on the account taking part. Local and couch multiplayer on one computer never do.

Free trial. A new subscription includes a seven-day free trial, once per Deep Sky Creations account. You set up a payment method with the payment provider when the trial starts; nothing is charged then. Premium costs $4.99 USD per month after the 7-day trial. A payment method is required. The price, billing interval and first payment date are shown before you start.

Automatic renewal. Unless you cancel, the subscription renews automatically at the price shown when you subscribed, at the end of the trial and at the end of each billing period, until you cancel.

Canceling. You can cancel at any time from your account's Premium page. If you cancel during the trial, Premium continues until the trial ends and you are not charged. If you cancel after paying, Premium continues until the end of the period you have paid for and does not renew.

Missed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Premium continues for a short grace period while the payment provider retries. If the payment still has not succeeded when that period ends, Premium is paused until it does, and ends if the provider stops retrying.

When Premium ends, your Deep Sky Creations account, your profile, your friends, your local saves, save states, games and settings are not deleted, and Ultimate Emulator keeps working on your computer. Only the Premium online services stop.

Payment is processed by Stripe on its hosted checkout and billing pages. Deep Sky Creations does not receive or store card numbers or security codes. Voluntary Support Development contributions are separate from Premium and do not purchase connected-service access.

Deep Sky Creations is provided as-is. Mike makes no warranty of fitness for any particular purpose and is not liable for losses arising from use of the site, errors in the data, or unavailability of the service.

These terms are governed by the laws of Michigan, USA. Any dispute will be resolved in the appropriate courts of that jurisdiction.

These terms can be updated. Material changes will reset the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
