What Hide Tide Is
Sometimes the best hiding place is right in front of you.
Hide Tide is a competitive underwater hide-and-seek game where camouflage is something you create yourself. Swim through colourful underwater environments, study the surfaces around you, sample their colours and material properties, and paint your body to disappear into the world.
Then find the perfect position, flatten yourself against the environment, eliminate your shadow, and hope your camouflage survives a careful set of eyes.
The Other Half of the Game
Hiding is only half of it. As the Hunter you enter the same environments searching for players who may be sitting directly in front of you. A strange shape, an imperfect pattern, the wrong texture, a tiny movement or a suspicious outline can expose someone who thought they had built the perfect disguise.
Every match becomes a battle of creativity, observation, deception and nerve.
A Simple Idea With Enormous Possibilities
The rules can be understood almost immediately — paint yourself, hide, don’t get caught — and what players do with them is close to limitless. One player painstakingly recreates the surface of a gallery floor. Another disappears against the side of an aquarium. Someone else makes an absolutely terrible disguise that somehow fools everyone.
Those moments are the heart of Hide Tide. Every environment becomes a canvas, every object a possible hiding place, every opponent a different way of thinking — and every round a new story.
Hide Tide is being developed as a highly polished multiplayer experience built around player creativity, social competition, replayability, and the kind of instantly understandable premise that is just as entertaining to watch as it is to play.
