Ultimate Emulator / System
Atari Lynx
The colour handheld, and ComLynx on one PC.
RazorLYNX plays standard Atari Lynx cartridges, turning the controls with games that rotate the screen. It needs the console's BIOS, which you provide. Two players can link two Lynx consoles on one PC with Local ComLynx. Support is experimental, so some cartridges will not run yet.

01 / Current support
Where Atari Lynx stands today.
Status describes the core, not every game. Compatibility is always title-dependent.
- Experimental
- Included with limited coverage.
- Core
- RazorLYNX, a first-party core included with Ultimate Emulator. It is chosen automatically for Atari Lynx games.
- Unrated
- No comparable per-core performance rating is claimed.

These are the Atari Lynx game files RazorLYNX opens. Ultimate Emulator does not supply games; add them from your own collection.

03 / Firmware & BIOS
A BIOS you provide.
Atari Lynx games cannot start until its BIOS is added. You add it once, and Systems shows Ready.
- Required
- One file: the console's original 512-byte boot ROM. Ultimate Emulator ships none, and accepts only the original image.
-
Open Manage BIOS
In Systems, select Atari Lynx and choose Manage BIOS. Its firmware page lists each file the system uses and whether it is required.
-
Choose the file you own
Check What file do I need?, then use Choose BIOS File, or Choose Firmware Folder if you keep your firmware together.

04 / Input
How it plays in your hands.
Connect a controller and it is mapped automatically. Change the layout for every game, for this system only, or for a single game in Settings → Controllers.
Atari Lynx in Ultimate Emulator
- The console's own controls: D-pad, A, B, Option 1, Option 2 and Pause.
- On a gamepad, Option 1 and 2 are the shoulder buttons and Pause is Start. Directions turn with games that rotate the screen.
05 / Picture
The original picture, on a modern screen.
Atari Lynx keeps its own picture: drawn at its original resolution and scaled to your window in the shape the console made.
- Resolution
- Drawn at its original resolution and scaled to fit your window, keeping the system's own pixel shape.
- Graphics settings
- Not offered for Atari Lynx yet. Integer Scale, cropping, pixel filtering and effects in Settings → Graphics apply to the other included systems.
06 / Your progress
In-game saves and save states.
In-game saves
- Cartridges that save to their own memory are not supported yet, so there are no in-game saves to keep.
Save states
- Not available with this core.
Rewind is not integrated with this core.

07 / Play together
Two consoles, one PC.
A system profile does not make a single-player game multiplayer. The game decides how many can play.
- On one PC
- One player per console. Local ComLynx links a second console on the same PC, free and with no account.
- Across PCs
- Not available. This system is local only.
Local ComLynx
- Local ComLynx runs two Atari Lynx consoles on one PC, for games that support ComLynx.
- Each player needs their own connected controller.
- Free and offline: no account or Premium.
08 / Honest compatibility
What to know before you play.
Current limits of the included core, as of this release.
Known limitations
- Cartridges that need on-board save memory (EEPROM) or the AUDIN feature are not supported yet.
- Local ComLynx sessions have no save states.
- Region
- There is no region setting.
