ColecoVision
Side buttons, a keypad and the arcade at home.
RazorCV plays standard ColecoVision cartridges with the joystick, the side buttons and the twelve-key keypad. It needs the console's BIOS, which you provide. Support is experimental, so some cartridges will not run yet.

01 / Current support
Where ColecoVision stands today.
Status describes the core, not every game. Compatibility is always title-dependent.
- Experimental
- Included with limited coverage.
- Core
- RazorCV, a first-party core included with Ultimate Emulator. It is chosen automatically for ColecoVision games.
- Unrated
- No comparable per-core performance rating is claimed.
- Release note
- BIOS required. Standard cartridges only; no save states.
02 / Your collection
The files it plays.
These are the ColecoVision game files RazorCV opens. Ultimate Emulator does not supply games; add them from your own collection.

03 / Firmware & BIOS
A BIOS you provide.
ColecoVision games cannot start until its BIOS is added. You add it once, and Systems shows Ready.
- Required
- One file: the console's 8 KiB system ROM. Ultimate Emulator ships none. It checks the file's size, but cannot tell you which revision you have.
-
Open Manage BIOS
In Systems, select ColecoVision and choose Manage BIOS. Its firmware page lists each file the system uses and whether it is required.
-
Choose the file you own
Check What file do I need?, then use Choose BIOS File, or Choose Firmware Folder if you keep your firmware together.

04 / Input
How it plays in your hands.
Connect a controller and it is mapped automatically. Change the layout for every game, for this system only, or for a single game in Settings → Controllers.
ColecoVision in Ultimate Emulator
- Two controllers, each with the joystick, the left and right side buttons and the 12-key keypad: 0 to 9, * and #.
- On the keyboard, the number row is the keypad. On a gamepad only keypad 1 and 2 are mapped by default (Start and Select); map the rest in Settings → Controllers for games that need them.
05 / Picture
The original picture, on a modern screen.
ColecoVision keeps its own picture: drawn at its original resolution and scaled to your window in the shape the console made.
- Resolution
- Drawn at its original resolution and scaled to fit your window, keeping the system's own pixel shape.
- Graphics settings
- Not offered for ColecoVision yet. Integer Scale, cropping, pixel filtering and effects in Settings → Graphics apply to the other included systems.
06 / Your progress
In-game saves and save states.
In-game saves
- ColecoVision cartridges have no save memory, so there are no in-game saves to keep.
Save states
- Not available with this core.
Rewind is not integrated with this core.

07 / Play together
Together on one PC.
A system profile does not make a single-player game multiplayer. The game decides how many can play.
- On one PC
- Up to 2 players, one controller each, in games made for more than one player. No account needed.
- Across PCs
- Not available. This system is local only.
08 / Honest compatibility
What to know before you play.
Current limits of the included core, as of this release.
Known limitations
- Cartridges must be 8, 16, 24 or 32 KiB. Bank-switched and MegaCart games are not supported.
- Accessories are not supported.
- Region
- NTSC timing.
